Creditcard quality
The laminated card is the most common plastic card. By far the most cards are produced according to this method. Think about your health card, customer card, fuel card, airmilescard, all of them are laminated cards. The production of our laminated cards are conform with the VISA/MASTERCARD standard and this means they are of a high quality.
The card exists of two layers of PVC that are provided with laminate (shine or mat) that have been melted to make one whole. The PVC becomes printed via offsetprocédé and the most common thickness is 0.76mm. The standard size is 54 by 86mm, but we also deliver this card in deviating sizes. Furthermore, the card is available in different thicknesses; 0.3mm, 0.5mm, 0.62mm.
The laminate layer makes it possible to provide this type of card with varying data afterwards. This can be done with thermal printing via a card printer, embossing, laser raving or, if the laminate has been provided with a magnetic tape stripe thanks to the encoding of the magnetic tape stripe. Chipcards and RFID cards are also laminated cards.
Magnetic stripe cards
Magnetic stripe cards are commonly used as access card for example fitness centers, hotels and in office environments. Cards Unlimited provides major national and international hotel chains with key cards and access cards. We also create access cards for the fitness industry.
Even if you want to print your access cards in-house with for example, name and photograph, we can help you write the magnetic strip. We providehe software and hardware to make a magnetic strip readable.
Magnetic stripe cards exist in 2 forms:
LoCo
HiCo
These two types represent the magnetic strength. The LoCo card is cheapest, which has as sidenote that the card is sensitive to external magnetic fields. This means that the card can not be kept close to strong fields because the information may be lost.
The LoCo magnetic stripe is often identified by a brown or blue color of the strip. The HiCo magnetic stripe card is insensitive to external magnetic fields and can be identified by the deep black color of the strip. ISO magnetic stripe card normally contains three tracks, including track 2 is reserved for access control purposes. The other two can be used can be combined for catering, payment etc. The card is compatible with other technologies such as Proximity, contact Chip and Mifare.
